The Challenge
Kingspan was transitioning PIM ownership from Group to Divisional level for localized administration and faster updates while ensuring compliance and governance.
- Managing ~15,000 SKUs in a 4-level hierarchy (Material Core Type to Width to Thickness to Profile/Gauge) with 200+ attributes per product.
- Complex “Tested Systems” linkages (~2,000 records, ~1,000 attributes each) for certifications
- Dual approval workflows via Active Directory for PCR compliance
- Data input via SmartSheets Excel templates and limited asset management (PDFs)
- Planned expansions to new product lines (Mexico, accessories, etc.) and integrations with Power BI, Salesforce, SAP, and BIM
- Need for centralized yet divisional governance, auditability, and data quality

The Solution: STIBO STEP PIM Implementation
Nvizion delivered a comprehensive Stibo STEP 2026 PIM implementation tailored to Kingspan’s needs.
- Product and Entity Modeling : Configured 4-level hierarchy, 8 entities, attribute sets, and Tested Systems linkages
- Workflow and Governance: Designed dual approval workflows integrated with Active Directory, PCR validation, and immutable records
- Data Quality and Rules: Implemented ~425 business rule actions and ~350 conditions for validation
- Asset and Integration Layer: Centralized PDF asset management with future CAD and image support. Built Azure-based inbound and outbound integrations including IIEP, SmartSheets, OIEP to Blob, Databricks, and Power BI
- Migration and Testing: Cleaned, deduped, and migrated existing data. Delivered full UAT and hypercare support
